Eastside Kings Blues Festival preserves and promotes the cultural heritage of largely unknown African American musicians who are often little known but all are skilled, seasoned artists helping to keep a tradition alive.

The festival takes place in the neighborhood venues along the 12th street corridor in Austin TX. During the post-war era these venues were a hotbed of blues and R&B. The Eastside Kings Festival brings back this unique tradition of blues, jazz and gospel music with artists performing in each venue along this street all with in two nights. This provides a glimpse into African American blues in Austin as it was during the 40’s-60’s. In some of the venues the festival will have knowledgeable presenters introducing the artists.
